The Lee Stephenson Royal Marines Footballer of the year trophy is presented to the most outstanding RMFA footballer of that season.
Lee Stephenson was himself a Royal Marine Footballer who went on to captain the team, he was a very strong no-nonesense centre half who was very good in the air and not much got past him on the ground either, he was courageous and always gave 100% to the cause, all the qualities needed to be the proud winner of the award itself.
Not long after returning from the Royal Marines sports tour to America in 1994 Lee was tragicly taken away from us at the age of 24, but as we who knew him grow older, Lee himself shall not grow old as we will always remember him.
Once a Marine Always a Marine.
